USA Cycling Nationals Moving to Vermont in 2025

USA Cycling announced today that the 2025 National Road Championships will move from Knoxville, Tennessee to Burlington, Vermont, marking the first time the event has visited New England in over two decades.

Course Details

The men’s road race will feature 14 laps of a 12-kilometer circuit through downtown Burlington and the surrounding hills. Total climbing approaches 3,800 meters—comparable to a medium mountain stage in a grand tour.

Women’s races use a modified eight-lap version of the same circuit. Time trials take place on a 38-kilometer out-and-back route along Lake Champlain’s eastern shore.

Dates

Racing runs June 19-22, 2025. Time trials open the program on Thursday, with road races concluding Sunday evening. Masters national championships occur during the same window on separate courses.

Economic Impact

Burlington city officials project $4.2 million in direct economic impact from the four-day event. Hotel bookings within 20 miles of the start/finish area are already 60% reserved for race weekend.

Volunteer registration opens February 1 with 800 positions available.
