Ironman announces a new 70.3 distance race in Portland, Oregon for August 2025, filling a gap in the Pacific Northwest triathlon calendar following the discontinuation of the Vineman event.
Course
The 90-kilometer bike leg travels through the Columbia River Gorge, climbing 1,100 meters before returning to downtown Portland. Swim occurs in the Willamette River with current-assisted splits expected. The run follows the waterfront path through six aid stations.
Pro prize purse totals $75,000 with 50 Kona qualifying slots available across age groups.
Registration
General registration opens January 8 at 10 AM Pacific. Previous Ironman finishers access registration 48 hours early. Entry fee is $375 until March 1, then increases to $425.
Organizers expect 2,500 participants for the inaugural edition.
